There are several types of spiral welds:
1. Spiral tape end welding: Thread welding in steel or steel welding head and tail of the steel head;
2. Two spiral butt welds: spiral cutting joins the two to form a circular weld;
3. Spiral spot welding: applied before final welding. Used to fix the edge of butt weld.
Analysis of Weld Parameters
(1) Weld width refers to the joint between the surface of the weld and the base metal, which is called weld toe. The distance between the cross section of a single weld is called the width of the weld toe.
(2) Reinforcement beyond the weld surface refers to the part that connects the weld metal at the weld height, which is called reinforcement. I make the cross-section of the weld high, the load-carrying capacity increased, and the sensitivity of radiography increased, but it will make the stress concentration of the weld. Usually higher than or not higher than the base material, increase its thickness and height, but the maximum should not exceed 3 mm.
(3) The penetrating section of welded joints is called the melting depth of the base material. Certain value to ensure the combination of penetrating weld and base metal strength. When the filler metal material (rod or wire) is constant, the penetration depth determines the chemical limit of welding. Different welding methods require different penetration values, such as welding, surfacing layer to maintain hardness and reduce the dilution of the base metal of the weld, and a smaller penetration depth should be required on the premise of guaranteeing penetration.
