Standard Specification for SA 213 Seamless Ferrite and Austenitic Alloy Steel Boilers, Superheaters and Heat Exchanger Tubes.
1. Surface state:
Austenitic steel pipes should be cleaned to remove scale. No acid pickling is required when bright annealing is used.
2. Chemical analysis of finished products:
Each furnace shall be analyzed from a billet or a steel pipe, and the chemical composition determined accordingly shall meet the specified requirements.
3. Mechanical test and particle size:
(1) Tensile test: If each batch of steel pipes is less than 50, the samples are taken for tensile test; if each batch of steel pipes is more than 50, two samples of two steel pipes should be taken for tensile test.
(2) Flattening test: Flattening test is carried out at both ends of each sample in each batch of finished pipes, but the root can not be used as flaring sample.
(3) Expanding test: Expanding test was carried out at both ends of each batch of finished test tubes, but root canals could not be used as flattened specimens.
(4) Hardness test: Brinell hardness test or Rockwell hardness test is carried out by taking samples from two tubes in each batch.
(5) Hydraulic test: Hydraulic test should be carried out for each pipe. Non-destructive testing can be used when specifying the buyer.
(6) Particle size: tested according to ASME E112 standard.
