ASTM standards are widely used in seamless tubes, such as ASTM a53, ASTM A106
1. Chemical Composition Analysis of ASTM American Standard Seamless Steel Pipe
Instrumental analysis and chemical analysis can be used. Submelt samples, ingot drill chips and pipe samples for chemical analysis. Smelting samples are usually analyzed by instrumentation and by chemical analysis and analysis of finished tube samples. Commonly used chemical analysis instruments are: infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer, direct reading spectrometer, X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.
2. ASTM American Standard Seamless Steel Pipe Size and Shape Inspection
Examination contents include: wall thickness, diameter, length, curvature, ellipticity, slope and obtuse angle, and the shape of cross section of steel tube.
3. ASTM American Standard Seamless Steel Tube Surface Quality Inspection
Artificial ophthalmic examination and noninvasive examination. There are many non-destructive testing methods, such as ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, magnetic particle testing, magnetic flux leakage testing, electromagnetic ultrasonic testing and penetration testing. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. Suitable for steel surface or near surface testing: eddy current testing, magnetic particle testing, magnetic flux leakage testing, penetration testing. Penetration inspection is limited to the inspection of open defects on the surface of steel pipes; magnetic particle inspection, magnetic flux leakage inspection and eddy current inspection are limited to the detection of ferromagnetic materials. Eddy current testing is more sensitive to point defects, while other defects are more sensitive to cracks. However, the ultrasonic flaw detection has a relatively fast response to the surface test of steel tube. There are still some difficulties in the qualitative analysis of steel pipes, and the ultrasonic detection is limited by the shape and grain size of steel pipes.
4. ASTM American Standard Seamless Steel Pipe Chemical Test
Mechanical properties test (tensile test, ductility test, hardness test), hydraulic test and corrosion test (intergranular corrosion test, hydrogen cracking test - HIC, sulfur sulfide stress cracking test - SSCC) at room or certain temperature.
5. ASTM American Standard Seamless Steel Tube Technical Performance Test
Including flattening test, ring test, flaring and crimping test, bending test.
6. Metallographic Analysis of ASTM American Standard Seamless Steel Pipe
Including low-rate and high-rate detection.
7. Testing of Thread Parameters of Petroleum Pipe
Including coupling detection, pipe thread detection and tube body as well as coupling after fastening test.
