What are the common methods and steps for testing?

Flattening test is to test the ultimate plastic deformation capacity of seamless steel tube under given conditions and the crack-free crack deformation. The principle is to apply the length of the seamless steel tube to the end of the sample or the prescribed length of the seamless steel tube. Pressure until the distance between the two plates under the action of force reaches the value specified in the relevant product standards.


First, flatten the sample


1. Cut the sample from any part of the seamless steel pipe that has passed the visual inspection. The sample shall be the full-load section of the pipeline product.


2. The length of the sample should not be less than 10 mm, but not more than 100 mm. Sample edges are allowed to be chamfered or chamfered by yttrium or other methods. Note: If the test results meet the test requirements, the sample edge can not be chamfered or chamfered.


3. If the test is to be carried out at the end of the full length tube, the length of the sample is cut perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube from the end of the tube. Cutting depth should be at least 80% of outer diameter.






2. Testing equipment


It can be tested on universal testing machine or pressure testing machine. The test machine shall be equipped with two parallel upper and lower pressure plates. The width of the parallel plate shall exceed that of the flat sample, i.e. at least 1.6D. The length of the pressing plate is not less than that of the sample. The tester can flatten the sample to a specified distance. Pressure plate should be rigid enough. It can also control the speed range required for testing.
