The main methods of cutting seamless steel pipe are cutting machine, cutting machine, flame cutting, sawing and so on. The characteristics of pipe cutting equipment are as follows.
(1) Pipe Cutter
The pipe cutter has the advantages of simple equipment, less investment and wide application. Some of the pipe cutters also have the functions of inverting grooves, automatic feeding and unloading, and collecting devices. Pipe cutting machine is a common equipment in seamless thick-walled steel pipe finishing production line.


(2) Pipe saw
It can be divided into pipe saw, band saw and circular saw. Pipe saw can continuously cut many seamless thick-walled steel tubes, which has high production efficiency, complex equipment structure and high investment. Band saw and circular saw have low production efficiency and less investment. Circular saw is suitable for cutting seamless thick-walled steel pipe with small external diameter, while band saw is used for cutting seamless thick-walled steel pipe with large external diameter.
 
(3) Flame cutting
Flame cutting includes oxygen cutting, hydrogen and oxygen cutting, plasma cutting and so on. The cutting method is suitable for cutting thick-walled steel tubes with large diameter and thickness. In plasma cutting, the cutting speed is faster. Because of the high temperature of flame cutting, there is a heat affected zone near the slit and the surface of the port is not smooth.


(4) Machine cutting
This kind of cutting is inefficient and is usually used for sampling and sample preparation.
