What are the main types of seamless tube forming technology?
1. Hot extrusion
Before extrusion, the billet must be pretreated by mechanical processing. When the extrusion diameter is 100 mm or smaller, the equipment investment is small, the material waste is small, and the technology is relatively mature. However, once the pipe diameter increases, hot extrusion requires large tonnage and high-power equipment, and the corresponding control system is upgraded.
2. Hot piercing rolling method
Hot piercing and rolling are mainly based on longitudinal rolling and cross rolling. Vertical rolling and rolling are mainly limited to dynamic mandrel mill rolling, small frame limited mandrel mill rolling, three roll limited mandrel mill rolling and floating mandrel mill rolling. These methods have the advantages of high production efficiency, low metal consumption, good product quality, advanced control system and wide application. Cross rolling and rolling methods are also widely used in the production of small seamless tubes with low investment and short process. They are suitable for small batch, multi-varieties, multi-specifications and high precision small seamless tubes.
3. Thermal Extension Method
Extended expansion equipment is simple, low cost, convenient maintenance, economical and durable, and flexible product specifications. If you need to prepare large diameter elbows and so on, you only need to add some accessories. It is suitable for the production of medium-thin-walled thick and large-caliber seamless steel tubes, and also for the production of thick-walled tubes that do not exceed the capacity of the equipment.
